Bridal hair is stepping into a dreamy, ethereal realm with trailing hair accessories—delicate floral, pearl and ribbons strands that cascade gracefully down the hair, creating a look that’s both romantic and otherworldly. Moving beyond traditional veils and heavy hairpieces, these bridal hair accessories bring a fresh, whimsical charm to bridal styling.

When fashion stylist Garima Garg married her long-time beau, she knew that she had to make each look reflect her eclectic style. “The whole inspiration came from the idea of accentuating personal style and adding elements and accessories to make the outfit look my own! Wanted to keep a combination of traditional and modern elements which resonates with me the most,” shares the stylist. But how do you integrate unique elements into a traditional bridal look? Picture this: shimmering pearl strings flowing like liquid light down the back. For one of her post-wedding functions, she picked a Rahul Mishra blazer and skirt look that she paired with sneakers. “I wanted to keep the look a mix of modern yet Indian which truly defines my perosnal style. So, I styled my hair with pearl tassels and a custom hairpiece by Hair Drama Co, which was a good substitute for hair extensions because of their movement and flow. They also created a statement of their own.” The subtle movement of pearls adds an air of vintage elegance while feeling refreshingly modern.

Another route for brides seeking a playful, feminine touch is silk ribbons in shades of ivory, blush or even soft gold. We first noticed this trend on fashion content creator Avantika Chhabria (of The Cister Co.), who opted for a single blush pink long ribbon. Created by celebrity and bridal makeup artist Shradha Luthra, the idea behind the look was to create something unique. “My primary goal is to curate bespoke looks for my brides,” shares the makeup artist. “For Avantika, she wanted a bow for her hair. However, since basic bows had already been extensively done, we wanted to make it more interesting. So, we designed a floor-length bow. I had satin fabric matched to her outfit and got the piece customised to complement her look perfectly.” While Avantika opted for sleek hair, these trailing ribbons can be woven into braids or loose curls, drifting behind like a whisper.

For a more traditional yet dreamy aesthetic, mogra or jasmine garlands make a poetic statement. Worn as trailing accents rather than in tight buns, the sweetly scented flowers create a delicate look and are trending everywhere. If there is a look that would define bridal hair trends for 2025, it would be this. After all, this contemporary take on floral adornments feels lighter and freer. The genesis for this trend, we believe was again Shradha Luthra’s bride, Khushboo Chugh Kukreja, who wore a floor-length mogra veil for her haldi ceremony. “For Khushboo, her heirloom jewels were so beautiful that they needed a traditional element to tie the look together. That’s why we incorporated mogra. Most references we explored featured braids with mogra tied around them, a style that had been done by many brides before. Instead, we chose to leave her hair open, allowing the mogra to cascade down to the floor. The inspiration was to create an Indian Rapunzel effect, making the look extra special with its floor-length styling̣,” shared Luthra.

Garima Garg also opted for a trailing flower look for her haldi ceremony by incorporating a floor-length thick strand. “I focused on timelessness and tradition for this look. I chose jasmine and mogra for my hair, beautifully blending traditional elements with fashion. The outfit is from Receremonial, naturally dyed from temple flowers, making it a perfect synergy,” shared the stylist.
