Can I Use Top Coat As Nail Glue?
Typically, any top coat can really go on press on nails, but we have fully vetted top coats and we find that Sally Hansen double duty, which is the one with the blue handle and it’s a flatter bottle, works best with our press-on-nails.
It will prevent it from the top coat from peeling or damaging the press on nail.
Regardless of the top coat you choose, it’s crucial to apply it correctly to prevent any cracking of the press-on nail’s finish.
To do this, start by applying a generous, goopy layer of top coat to allow for a smooth and even application. Avoid adding a second layer or touching the top coat until it has fully dried. Touching it or applying a second layer prematurely can potentially cause the finish to crack.
There are two main ways to apply the top coat. The first method is to seal the tip of the nail by painting the backside of the tip. This is ideal if you only want to seal or reseal the top of the nail, rather than covering the entire surface.
The second method involves painting the top coat all over the press-on nail, just like you would with regular nail polish. This method gives a more polished look but requires additional care to ensure the top coat is fully dry before touching or moving the nails.
